Fatuma Dakane

Fatuma (she/her) grew up in Lewiston, Maine, and is passionate about supporting youth and strengthening her community. She first joined the Somali Bantu Community Association in 2023 as a Youth Consultant, leading gardening sessions and outdoor educational activities. She now serves as the Youth Program Assistant, where she helps coordinate youth programs, connect families with resources, and support day-to-day operations. Fatuma has several years of experience mentoring youth, facilitating sustainability workshops, and practicing restorative approaches in schools. She speaks Somali and English fluently and is committed to creating welcoming, supportive spaces for young people to grow and thrive.
